Jacquesson is a storied house in Dizy, owner of some of the greatest vineyard plots in all of Champagne. For almost two whole centuries they remained quite a traditional Champagne house: defining a house style, and with the proper vineyards to do so they were always viewed as a top-tier Champagne. When Laurent & Jean-Hervé Chiquet succeeded their father in the 1980s, a revolution started to build in their minds - one of pushing the bounds of this flagship enterprise of a region into otherworldly quality.

Jacquesson

And yes, they succeeded. Starting in 2000, the brothers began producing their numbered cuvees, starting with 728; this reimagined the traditional method of blending. Essentially, a Champagne house was expected to produce the same wine annually, doing whatever it took to maintain a consistent taste and feel, regardless of how they got there. This innovation allowed Jacquesson's wines to be the best blend - regardless of its grape varietals, vintage or village - that the brothers felt deserved to be released.

In addition to the 700-series, they also segmented out those top vineyards such as Vauzelle Terme, Corne Bautray and Terres Rouge, into single-vineyard, single-vintage bottlings. The acclaim has shot through the roof, with the 700-series deemed one of the greatest values in all of Champagne, and the single-vineyard wines earning massive approval from those lucky enough to lay hands on them.
