Shipping & Delivery Information

Orders are typically fulfilled in 1-2 business days. However, we prefer not to have orders sitting in a warehouse over the weekend (for optimal climate control), so will often wait to ship orders that come in on a Thursday or Friday until the following Monday or business day.

Orders are packed in protective styrofoam wine shippers, with the exception of bulk temperature controlled shipments which are packed in standard layflats. In the event that the wine is being stored in its original case, we will open the case to confirm the product, then ship the bottles and the case separately. Banded cases will be held until we establish your preferred method of shipping. 

If you are not ready for us to ship the wine at the time of purchase, please make note of this in your order and we will hold the wine for you. You can select the shipping method "Consolidate" and we will hold be default or add the ideal shipment date at Check Out

We encourage our clients to only ship wine during more moderate seasons, as both overly hot and cold temperatures can potentially damage the quality of your wine. For that reason, we are happy to hold any summer or winter orders in our warehouse at no additional charge. Of course, you may choose to ship at any time, but we are not responsible for any damages that may occur due to extreme weather or general shipping delays.

We carefully control the climate in which all wine in our inventory is held. For this reason, we do not accept returns on wine purchases, which may have experienced varied changes in climate since leaving our warehouses. Please see our Returns + Cancellations page for more information.

We offer free shipping on orders of $250+ in the US. This is for the continental or contiguous US. This excludes Hawaii and Alaska along with any other territories which we do not ship ground.

This also excludes any states which Thatcher's Wine does not ship to including [but not limited to] Mississippi, Utah or other states which may change at any time.

You can consolidate multiple orders to make the value at least $250 however, each shipment must be at least this value.

All other terms and conditions apply as per the shipping policy.

This is standard, flat rate ground shipping to all of the continental states in the US. Pricing is per case. (Note: We recommend shipping full cases to provide the best value, and will happily hold your purchases until you are able to fill an entire 12-bottle case.) 

Available exclusively in the New York metro area, this consolidated wine shipment is one of the best options for ensuring the safety of your wine. Each month (typically mid-month) a temperature controlled truck leaves our warehouses to bring a bulk shipment to our New York / New Jersey hub. This typically takes 10-15 Days. From there, individual wine orders will be shipped using a fully temperature-controlled local carrier. At this point, you will be contacted by the carrier with a delivery date. Please note, there is no tracking information available during this process. (For the purposes of these shipments, temperature controlled = 55°F.)

Available exclusively in the Chicago metro area, this consolidated wine shipment is one of the best options for ensuring the safety of your wine. Monthly (on average this may vary) a temperature controlled truck leaves our warehouses to bring a bulk shipment to UOVO/Domaine Chicago. This typically takes 10-15 Days. From there, the wine will be inbounded and available for Will Call pickup at 1000 N North Branch St, Chicago, IL 60642.

Please note, there is no tracking information available during this process. (For the purposes of these shipments, temperature controlled = 55°F.)

Available for most zip codes throughout California, this is one of the best options for ensuring the safety of your wine. This typically takes 5-14 days from order placement. The wine is fully temperature controlled door to door. Please note* you will not receive tracking information until the day of delivery and someone 21+ must be available to sign for the delivery. (For the purposes of these shipments, temperature controlled = 55°F.)

UOVO (Domaine) Storage Clients-

A typical transfer from Napa, including pack up from Thatcher's Wine, to other locations costs around $45 per piece, and we will consolidate your order into as few pieces as possible.

UOVO/Domaine NY/NJ will be billed by Thatcher's Wine. If you are a client in NY/NJ you can choose DOMAINE NY STORAGE CLIENTS ONLY-Monthly Temp Controlled at checkout and we will automatically ship your wine to your storage at Domaine Edison.

Vinfolio Storage Clients-

Vinfolio customers will be billed directly from Vinfolio.

Please note that Domaine and Vinfolio may change their rates at any time, and this is just an estimate of shipping charges.

We offer Will-Call at both our Brentwood - Los Angeles Shop and our Hayward - NorCal Warehouse. Please choose Will-Call at checkout if you wish to pick up directly at either location.

If you have any special requests regarding the timeline or temperature control of your shipment (or special packaging needs), please add these notes when viewing your cart.

We are able to ship to many international destinations, but certain requirements or limitations may apply to specific countries. Please note that all sales are final to international destinations and we do not accept returns due to shipping delays or customs issues.

International Rates- Depending on your country for shipment, you may see an auto populated shipping option calculated.

Custom Shipping Requests-By selecting this method, you will be contacted directly by a member of our team with specific recommendations or a range of shipping options. 

Tracking & Shipping Wine on Your Behalf

Once you are provided with your order information, you are solely responsible for tracking and monitoring your shipment. Any packages that are refused or unable to be delivered will be returned to Thatcher's LLC at your expense.

Any order that is unable to ship, or is seized or destroyed due to violation or potential violation of shipping laws (and/or common carrier policy) is not refundable. All customers are solely responsible for determining the manner in which alcoholic beverages may or may not be lawfully brought into their jurisdiction.
