How Pre-Arrival Works

These wines are currently on the way to Thatcher’s Wine. We have sourced them from some of our clients' private cellars, our friends in Europe, direct from the domaine or through our other trusted networks. On each product you will note an estimated time of arrival. Understand that these are only estimates, and to ensure that your wine arrives safely it may be longer. Utilizing this method allows us to offer some amazing wines and gives you the opportunity to secure them earlier. Upon arrival at TWC you will receive a notification and we will ship the wines to you.

Deutz's 2015 Brut Blanc de Noir Parcelle d'Aÿ Meurtet William Deutz has turned out very well, bursting with aromas of ripe orchard fruit, fresh bread, mint and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and enveloping, it's an elegant, even sensual Champagne with bright acids and beautifully defined flavors, complemented by a pillowy mousse. This is the finest Meurtet released to date.

The 2015 Brut Millésimé William Deutz Meurtet is pretty tightly wound at this stage. It will be interesting to see what time brings here. Like so many 2015s, the Meurtet is marked by slight vegetal notes that are likely to become more pronounced over time. Because of that, I would prefer to drink it on the young side, even if the wine is not especially forthcoming. Dried pear, brioche, sage and mint linger. Texturally, the 2015 is a very pretty wine. Only the slightly clenched finish and that vegetal quality give me reason to pause.
