Vinous

Vinous

Good full red. Withdrawn nose suggests redcurrant, iron and rust. Much less sweet and open-knit than the Charmes, but densely packed. Redcurrant fruit is currently overshadowed by minerals, gunflint, dried herbs and underbrush. Finishes with a touch of tannic dryness. In an awkward stage today, showing a distinct medicinal austerity. But I would not be surprised if this merited an outstanding rating with five or six years in the bottle.
