The 1991 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru has an impressive bouquet with raspberry, loamy soil that verge on peat-like scents, intense and very well defined. The vigor is still palpable after 27 years. The palate is fleshy and ripe on the entry with gentle grip, red fruit laced with white pepper and clove that dovetails into a saline, quite sensual finish. What a noble Les-Saint-Georges this is. Tasted at the Gouges retrospective at La Cabotte.
