The 1990 Meursault Les Rougeots is a spectacular wine and certainly I have fonder memories of this compared to Coche's 1990 Les Perrières. It still looks quite youthful with green tints. The palate is very well defined with acacia honey, jasmine and just a light tang of marmalade, mellowing with time and evolving hints of custard creams. The palate is very fresh, a real surprise considering the warmth of the growing season with traces of wet limestone showing through. It feels so clean and precise with veins of lemongrass enhancing the long and energetic finish. This is outstanding. Tasted at Hide restaurant in London.
