How Pre-Arrival Works

These wines are currently on the way to Thatcher’s Wine. We have sourced them from some of our clients' private cellars, our friends in Europe, direct from the domaine or through our other trusted networks. On each product you will note an estimated time of arrival. Understand that these are only estimates, and to ensure that your wine arrives safely it may be longer. Utilizing this method allows us to offer some amazing wines and gives you the opportunity to secure them earlier. Upon arrival at TWC you will receive a notification and we will ship the wines to you.

The 2019 Pfaffenwies is the first vintage for Theresa Breuer of this cru that comes exclusively from the lower plots with 50+-year-old vines, whereas the middle part (20 years old) and the upper plots (50 years old) went into Terra Montosa. The nose is pure and intense but represents a more stressful vintage due to the high yields in 2018 and several heat peaks in 2019. The wine is elegant, pure and mineral on the palate and quite tannic and powerful on the pretty massive finish. There is energy and citrus freshness and again a certain tannin structure from the grapes, but compared to the 2020, this is a more powerful, rich and heavy Pfaffenwies. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2022.
