The golden-colored 2005 Riesling Clos Ste Hune is clear, deep and elegant on the spicy as well as intense nose that is reminiscent of ripe and cooked apricots. The palate is pure and salty yet dense, extremely intense and complex, with a striking mineral expression, finesse and fine tannins. The 2005 Clos Ste Hune is a calm and expressive Riesling with great and complex length. Despite being almost 20 years old, it is still a promising wine that could perhaps even improve further over the years. Tasted at the Auberge de l'Ill in November 2024.

This is an especially exotic, flamboyant Clos Ste. Hune that will thrill readers seeking immediate gratification. Tropical fruit, bananas, mint, pineapple and honey all meld together in an expressive, if young, Clos Ste. Hune that can be enjoyed today or cellared for up to two decades, perhaps more.
