The 2011 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Alte Reben GG Réserve displays a clear, intense and matured nose of ripe, dried and concentrated Riesling aromas, along with white fruit aromas, caramel-like and nutty flavors. Full-bodied, rich and piquant, with fresh lemon aromas, this Riesling has fine acidity and good concentration. This is a rich and powerful, yet elegant cru from a very warm vintage. Some slightly drying tannins are palpable in the aftertaste. The 2011 is a bit in a valley today, but far from being tired. I'd keep it for another three years. Tasted in February 2017.
