The 2017 Heydenreich Spätburgunder GG is lovely, pure, fresh and intense on the precise, superbly defined, elegant and concentrated nose that intermixes juicy cherry with limestone aromas. Silky textured, fresh and with very fine tannins, this is a dense, intense and concentrated, very firm and tightly knitted, elegant Pinot of exceptional quality. This dense and full-bodied wine has a finish that is still so tart, which makes this still far too young to be opened today, but the personality, expression and aging potential of this 2017 is extraordinary. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2020.
