Sébastien Caillat always tended to harvest this parcel on the same day as neighboring La Romanée, but for the first time, he picked the 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Grande Montagnea a few days earlier, when the grape clusters were smaller. The result is the finest Lamy-Caillat wine from this site to date, offering up aromas of minty pear, clear honey, freshly baked bread and nutmeg, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive wine that's taut and mineral, concluding with a saline finish.

The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Grande Montagne 1er Cru, the first to be picked this year, has a perfumed bouquet with wilted yellow flowers, crushed stone, hints of Mirabelle and sea spray. It was a correct decision to pick this early. The well-balanced palate has a fine bead of acidity, fresh and quite saline. It’s not as persistent as Caillat's best vintages, yet it has a spring in its step.
