The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has a classy bouquet that shrugs off the warmth of the growing season to deliver scents of Granny Smiths, wet stone and a very faint touch of peach. Wonderful definition. The palate is well balanced with a slightly richer entry, but there is superb grip and backbone behind that. Judiciously spiced with a lingering, weighty finish, this is a Puligny that over-delivers. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
