The Wine Advocate

Wine Advocate

95-97

The 2022 Richebourg Grand Cru is brilliant, mingling aromas of dark berries and plums with notions of blood orange, rose petals, exotic spices and smoke in an incipiently complex mélange. Full-bodied, deep and complete, it's seamless and multidimensional, its layered core of fruit almost entirely concealing its ample endowment of sweet, powdery tannin.

Vinous

Vinous

92-94

The 2022 Richebourg Grand Cru has red and black fruit on the nose, with pressed iris flower, undergrowth and a little iodine. Fine definition, yet tight. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and gentle grip. It has more depth than the Romanée-Saint-Vivant, but this clams up towards the finish and leaves you wondering if there's more. I will be prudent for now.
