The 2021 Merlot Buri is spicy and highly expressive. It opens with a mentholated herbal freshness that excites the senses, as shavings of pine, rosemary and dusty stone lift notes of dried blueberries. The 2021 envelops the palate with silken depths of ripe red and blue fruit as sweet spices swirl throughout. A twang of sour citrus punctuates the finish. The Buri leaves the palate stained in primary concentration and the sweetest tannins imaginable, finishing classically dry, structured and expertly balanced. In a word: dreamy.
