The 2021 Merlot Filip is intense, perfumed and darkly floral, with a whiff of exotic spice leading the way for wild blueberries, dusty dried herbs and hints of camphor. It feels nearly velvety yet is loaded with tension, as cloves and cinnamon sticks mix with black raspberry tones over a stream of tantalizing acidity. The depth and concentration here are seriously notable. The 2021 finishes potent and with extreme length, leaving behind an air of lavender. Simply spellbinding.
