The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet, quite perfumed with scents of lemon verbena, yellow flowers and light almond aromas. It improves in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry with fine acidity. There is a patina of wood to be assimilated, yet it feels tensile and linear with a dash of pepper on the finish. Promising. Though returning after 10 minutes, it just dispenses with some of its mineralité. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
