The Wine Advocate

Wine Advocate

92-94

Unfurling in the glass with aromas of dark berries, plums, spices, loamy soil and vine smoke, the 2021 Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with supple tannins and a suave, seamless profile.

Vinous

Vinous

91-93

The 2021 Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru has more fruit concentration on the nose compared with the Charmes-Chambertin; it's well-defined, with blue fruit hints underlying the red cherries and crushed strawberry, gentle building in the glass. The palate is very satisfying with fine-boned tannins that frame the dark cherry and raspberry fruit, segueing into a slightly saline finish. Not as complex as other vintages that I have tasted at this stage, but it is very composed and should give 15-18 years of drinking pleasure.
