The Premier cru Genevrieres parcel, planted in 1975 and rich in limestone soils, benefits from an east to southeast exposure that receives abundant morning sunlight, ensuring optimal ripening conditions. The winemaking process is traditional, involving extended lees contact and aging in barrels for 15-22 months.

The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières is particularly successful, wafting from the glass with aromas of minty pear, peach, white flowers and hazelnuts, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny palate that's seamless, layered and vibrant, its deep core of fruit girdled by racy acids and chalky extract that asserts itself on the finish.

The 2021 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru has a more backward bouquet at the moment despite rigorous coaxing. It gradually unfurls with scents of red apple, wet pavement and just a touch of grilled walnut, though it doesn't possess the intensity of the previous vintage. The palate is more promising than the nose and perhaps a more convincing augury. Far more intense at the moment, with a silver bead of acidity, just a little spice enlivening the impressively long finish. At the moment, it's a Janus, two Meursaults in one glass. Therefore, it should be cellared for several years.
