Julien and wife Nancy Kerschen have amassed a passionate following, as they are equally adept at creating both red and white Rhône wines of immense class, purity and finesse.

Julien Cecillon

Just like so many love stories begin, Julien Cecillon and his now-wife Nancy Kerschen traversed the world of wine, staging at wineries in both hemispheres and found love in the labor of a Californian harvest one autumn. Possessed by their shared passion for putting their budding knowledge and skill sets to use, they returned to Julien's home village in the Rhône and began their tiny label in 2011.  In the following years, their wines began to amass a small following, as they possessed such a unique balance of both intensity of flavor and the purity of fruit we all seek, all the while seeming as light as a feather across the palate. You would call them polished, but that would suggest that they added or removed something to create a false sense of finesse, which couldn't be further from the truth: no additives, no heavy filtering, just slow, naturally-occurring  fermentations in neutral oak, and good old-fashioned hard work in the vineyard. Equally adept at crafting red and white Rhône varietals, they are budding stars.

Deep, glistening violet color. Mineral- and spice-tinged aromas of fresh dark berries, licorice and candied violet show fine delineation and lift. At once rich and lively in character, offering intense black raspberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that steadily deepen and become sweeter through the back half. Shows excellent clarity on the impressively persistent, penetrating finish, which features well-knit tannins and resonating floral and exotic spice notes. This vineyard is located in the granitic, northern sector of the appellation, just outside the village of Crozes. Show this one, blind, to your snobby, know-it-all buddies who like to bag on this appellation.
