The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Sous le Puits 1er Cru has an open and generous bouquet in a similar vein to Carillon's Champs Canet: a mélange of green and yellow fruit, crushed stone and a touch of bruised apple. The palate is well-balanced with a harmonious texture. Everything knits together tidily, richer in style and broad, a little evolved and missing some acidity on the finish. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
