The history of organic viticulture in Burgundy is family business for second-generation winemakers Emmanuel and Patrice at Domaine Guillot-Broux. Following in their father’s footsteps, their expertise with high density plantings and single vineyard vinifications brings wines that deliver far beyond their price and place in the Burgundian classification system.

Domaine Guillot-Broux

After apprenticing in the Beaujolais at Domaine de la Chanal and with Bernard Michelot in Meursault, Jean-Gerard Guillot returned home to start Domaine Guillot-Broux in 1978 with his wife. He grew up among family vineyards in Cruzille and his parents are credited with establishing the first organically-farmed vineyard in Burgundy in 1954.

In 2006, Jean-Gerard passed away leaving the domaine to his two sons who have continued to push forward the legacy started by their grandparents.Today, the family meticulously tends 17 hectares of vines across the villages Cruzille, Grevilly, and Chardonnay. Two things stand out as the defining factors of Domaine Guillot-Broux: high density plantings intended to produce concentrated vibrant wines, and several single vineyard sites that Emmanuel and Patrice vinify separately.

The site-specific bottlings of Chardonnay, Gamay, and Pinot Noir are the domaine’s calling card with Beaumont, a selection of old-vine Gamay being one of the domaine’s crown jewels. Year after year, we struggle to find a more delicious and Burgundian Gamay.
