The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Fairendes 1er Cru feels more closed and a little pithy, maybe just missing the same mineralité as the Les Grands Clos. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, taut and fresh with orange zest and mandarin, though the finish just needs a little more length and precision.
