From calcareous soils, the Deidesheimer Riesling 2019 Kalkofen GG offers a clear, intense and aromatic bouquet with very fine aromas of lanolin, clove and vanilla from the oak vats. Full-bodied and enormously juicy on the palate, this is a generous and hedonistic but nevertheless subtle and refined Riesling that reveals ripe peach aromas and a fine, harmonious texture with a quiet, subtly juicy flow. The acidity is delicate and stimulatingly salty on the finish. A gorgeous wine tasted as a sample in May 2020.
