"Yes, I must confess I have taken this wine home more than any other in the portfolio. Why? It just always hits the spot with its balance, nose, voluptuous mouthfeel and a finish that leaves me wanting more."

Pascal Prunier Bonheur

It's not just Pascal - his wife Christine is the latter half of the hyphenated name, and we love a strong woman behind a good man. The family oversees 8 hectares of vines, both red and white. We've really hones our eye sin on the whites, specifically the Auxey-Duresses, where the value is off the charts; with a great guiding hand, you get Meursault-like flinty, smoky mineral tones with that whip-crack of mouthwatering acidity, and a soft density that broadens as the wine opens. What helps tremendously is the care the couple gives to the vines - seeing a vine as something that can last multiple generations and treating it as almost a member of their family is a brilliant way to view the power they yield to create a lasting difference; this is highlighted in their Auxey-Duresses vines that were planted in the early 1950s. These old boys and girls churn out beautifully complex, concentrated flavors, softened by about a year in oak after fermentation.
