The 2019 Meursault Les Bouchères 1er Cru has a perfumed nose with orange blossom, quince, rose petals and almond shavings. It is seductive, but the oak will need a couple of years to assimilate fully. The palate is well balanced with impressive weight but lacks the requisite mineralité and tension. That said, the finish does muster precision, suggesting there will be a reward for bottle age. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
