Les Caillerets is a small 0.33 ha parcel featuring 60-year-old vines nurtured on limestone soils. Following a traditional winemaking approach, the process includes extended lees contact and aging in oak barrels for 15-22 months. The harvesting season commenced on September 7th, yielding an outstanding vintage characterized by its superb terroir expression and purity.

How Pre-Arrival Works

These wines are currently on the way to Thatcher’s Wine. We have sourced them from some of our clients' private cellars, our friends in Europe, direct from the domaine or through our other trusted networks. On each product you will note an estimated time of arrival. Understand that these are only estimates, and to ensure that your wine arrives safely it may be longer. Utilizing this method allows us to offer some amazing wines and gives you the opportunity to secure them earlier. Upon arrival at TWC you will receive a notification and we will ship the wines to you.

The 2019 Meursault Les Caillerets 1er Cru, which Raphael Coche mentioned was exposed to the heat more than other vineyards, has a slightly more honeyed bouquet than the Les Chevaliers, perhaps without quite the same degree of delineation. The palate is very well balanced with more honeyed texture, just a little more caramelised, hints of quince and marmalade towards the finish. Reassuring complex and yet completely delicious.
