The ever-curious and humble Bastian Wolber started his own label during recovery from a skateboarding accident sustained during harvest at Ganevat; utilizing the downtime, he set about to purchasing fruit from trusted friends in wildly disparate regions - the Savoie, Baden (Germany) and Alsace. His never-ending pursuit of knowledge landed him in Burgundy where he works alongside Jean-Yves Bizot while continuing to craft his own wines.

Bastian Wolber

German-born Bastian Wolber now calls Burgundy home, but has an undying thirst for fruit from all European regions, it seems. Working as a negociant under the Laisse Tomber label allows him to experiment consistently, and each vintage brings new wines. Starting with Mondeuse from the Savoie, Spätburgunder from Baden and a field blend from Alsace in 2019, he now crafts wines from his own Pinot Noir vineyard in Burgundy while purchasing additional fruit, as well. You will find Pinot Noir and Gamay from France and Germany, often produced a la Beaujolais in a carbonic or semi-carbonic style that propels the aromatics sky high.
