The 2018 Savennières Clos de la Hutte offers an intense, complex and elegant nose that combines mineral depth and purity with the fruit generosity of the vintage. Still from very young vines—just seven years old—on solid schist and vinified in equal parts in 350- and 500-liter barrels (15% new), this is a full-bodied, intense and juicy yet pure, vital, surprisingly fresh and persistently mineral-driven Chenin with fine tannins from La Possonnière. Bottled with a moderate 12% stated alcohol but lots of intensity and structure. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2022.
