The 2018 Rouchamps is Chardonnay from an old vineyard on clay and Bajocien limestone soils that he purchased nine years ago and for which he still doesn't have the organic or biodynamic certification. It was vinified, matured and bottled like the rest of the whites from 2018, with indigenous yeasts, with lees for four years and bottled without fining, filtering or added sulfur. It feels a little simple, without the depth the other Chardonnays have, and it feels a little ripe at 14% alcohol but is clean, precise and balanced. It was bottled in March 2022.
