Les Frionnes is nestled in the lower section of a south-east facing slope, graced by limestone soils and boasting vines dating back to 1935. The wine undergoes a delicate pressing with a brief settling period, then matures for 12 months in 300L to 600L barrels before further settling in steel tanks for an additional 6-12 months.

The 2018 Saint-Aubin Les Frionnes 1er Cru retains the estuarine scents that I picked out from barrel but they have shut down since bottling. Quite viscous on the palate with praline and lemon curd. The tropical fruit in this Frionnes that was hidden last year, have come to the fore, rendering it almost Chenin Blanc-like.
