The 2018 Nuit Saint-Georges Les Roncières 1er Cru comes from a one-hectare parcel of around 60-year-old vines. It has a clean, precise bouquet of blackberry, briar, crushed rocks and light marine scents (oyster shell and crustacean), understated and quite reserved for this domaine. The medium-bodied palate offers sappy black fruit, displaying more sapidity than Les Bousselottes and fanning out gently toward the finish. This feels quite approachable in style thanks to its silky finish. Touches of hoisin and truffle emerge on the aftertaste. Excellent.
