The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Grandes Ruchottes 1er Cru had a heavy reduction at first, although it seemed easy to shift. Underneath lies plenty of citrus fruit, orange pith, beeswax and lanolin aromas all defined and focused. The palate is well-defined with a fine bead of acidity, quite spicy and tensile. Modest in length with a persistent yet bitter finish. Fine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
