The 2017 Saint-Aubin Le Charmois 1er Cru (this domaine uses the singular!) has a precise, almost Puligny-like bouquet with subtle granitic aromas surfacing with aeration. The palate is fresh and harmonious on the entry with one of the best lines of acidity amongst Bachelet’s Saint-Aubins. This is linear and quite strict but very precise. Maybe a little more substance on the finish would not have gone amiss, but this should mature nicely in bottle.
