The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanchot-Dessus 1er Cru comes from a single block of vines planted way back in 1927, the oldest vines farmed by the domaine. This matures in 50% new oak, a little more than other Premier Crus. It has a gorgeous bouquet with scents of white chocolate and almond permeating the citrus fruit - very harmonious and focused. The palate is very cohesive and poised. This has a beautiful line of acidity, veins of orange pith and tinned apricot surfacing towards the finish that lingers in the mouth. Those ancient vines sure know how to deliver in the glass! Highly recommended.
