The intensely yellow colored 2017 Saumur Blanc La Charpentrie is enormously deep, intense and complex on the concentrated and finely iodine and substantial nose. Full-bodied, round and lush on the palate yet also with a fascinating chalky finesse, this is a full-bodied, dense, round and vital, sustainable, iodine and finessed, highly stimulating finish. This is an undesignated grand cru from Saumur. Abnormally good. Highly recommended. 12.5% alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in September 2021.
