Sourced from two very special vineyards boasting vines that are over 60 years old, situated from Taillepieds and Clos des Chênes. The 2017 Volnay 1er Cru, a blend of Taillepied and Clos des Chênes, has an intense bouquet of menthol-tinged red berry fruit that is more refined and delineated than the Meursault Rouge. The palate is medium-bodied with crushed strawberry and red cherry fruit, touches of white pepper and a twist of sour cherry lending tension toward the persistent finish.
