Not surprisingly, the 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru is the darkest and most powerful red in this range, but it shows those signatures – both typical of Damodes – while also remaining faithful to the house style. If that sounds appealing, well, it is. Black cherry, mint, lavender and savory notes get an added kick of aromatic intensity from the whole clusters. Beautifully layered and textured, the Damodes is a winner.
