The 2015 Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is heavily reduced at the moment despite rigorous coaxing, though there seems to be plenty of substance underneath. The palate is rounded and honeyed on the entry, rich and viscous in texture, with dried honey, fennel and a touch of ginger toward the finish. Not bad, just a tad overworked at first, but it gains harmony and precision. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
