A wine dedicated to Jean-Francois' grandmother, I first tasted a magnum of the 2014 Côtes du Jura Chardonnay Cuvée Marguerite blind and loved it and ran to a shop that had it to buy one to lie down in my cellar. This cuvée of the old strain of Chardonnay called Melon Queue Rouge is not usually among my favorites, but I was blown away by its sharpness and minerality, which seems to be a common theme with the 2014 whites. This was sharp and with effervescent acidity that made you salivate immediately and called for food. I was really impressed by this 2014, and later the 2015 had a similar effect on me, so maybe I had underestimated the previous vintages....
