The 2014 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico delle Fontane pulls you close with a dark and dusty display of black fruits, exotic spice and dried florals, all enlivened by a lifting hint of fresh mint. This is silky and enveloping, fleshing out across the palate, while ripe wild berries and minerals create a more tactile feel toward the close. Lightly structured and harmonious, as hints of sour citrus and residual acids offset the lingering tart cherry fruit. Sweet tannins frame the experience well. This stunning blend of 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Frappato is sourced from the best parcels of the COS vineyards in the Fontane area of Vittoria.
