A beautifully fresh, elegant red from Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet, the tiny-production 2013 Cote Rotie Cote Brune has a complex and nuanced bouquet of creme de cassis, cracked black pepper, spiced bacon, olives and violets. This flows to a medium to full-bodied Cote Rotie that has bright acidity, good concentration, ripe tannin and an impeccably balanced, layered profile. Give bottles 5-7 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

Glass-staining ruby. Explosive, spice-laced dark fruit liqueur, floral pastille and smoky mineral aromas show superb delineation. Sappy, concentrated and penetrating on the palate, offering juicy boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors that open up and become sweeter as the wine opens up. Shows a wonderful balance of richness and vivacity, with powerful finishing thrust, youthfully gripping tannins and dark-fruit-driven persistence.
