The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Macherelles feels quite mature on the nose with dried honey, quince and candle wax aromas. The palate is viscous on the entry, lightly honeyed with moderate acidity, although the spicy finish is missing some complexity and feels a little weary after several years in bottle. Drink soon. Tasted at the domaine in Gamay.
