The 2009 Riesling Clos Ste Hune comes from a very warm vintage yet with cool nights. The intensely yellow-colored wine opens with a deep, pure and intense, lemony bouquet with limestone aromas. Very elegant and refined on the palate, this is a remarkably finessed and refreshing 2009 that doesn’t have the power and muscles of the 2019, but it has remarkable balance. It is clear, dry and finely tannic on the finish yet also reveals intense and juicy fruit. This has 14% stated alcohol with 2.9 grams per liter of residual sugar. Tasted on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Clos Ste Hune at the beginning of November at the Domaine Trimbach in Ribeauvillé.
