The 2008 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots is the most complete of the three 2008 Vosnes 1er crus I tasted. Hints of licorice, menthol and violets add complexity to the sweet, perfumed fruit. All of the elements meld together beautifully through the round, engaging finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2028.

Medium red. Reticent but pure aromas of sweet raspberry, rose petal, minerals and cocoa, plus a creamy nuance. Then juicy, high-pitched and electric, with terrific definition and thrust to its red fruit and floral flavors. Not a fleshy wine yet but suave and bright, showing an absence of hard edges. Finishes lively and long.
