The 2005 Clos des Goisses Rosé is gracious, feminine and lifted in style. Crushed flowers, sweet red berries and mint all blossom in the glass. An intensely saline finish gives the 2005 its sense of energy and direction. Once again, the Clos des Goisses Rosé is completely different in style from the straight Clos des Goisses. In fact, the connection between the two wines is not at all perceptible. Here, Charles Philipponnat is clearly going for a lighter style based of Rosé that is meant to be drunk on the young side. The Rosé is made by adding 6-7% still Pinot to the straight Clos des Goisses base blend. Dosage is 4.5 grams/liter.
