Deep red-ruby. Medicinal black cherry, licorice, tobacco and menthol on the nose. Rich, supple and sweet but still youthfully closed; more muscular than the Beaux-Monts but at the same time more exotic and chocolatey. Finishes sweet and long, with substantial ripe tannins. The '05s are huge wines that need a good seven or eight years, notes Meunier, and they should have no problem holding their fruit.
