Deep ruby-red. Roasted currant, pepper, minerals and gunflint on the nose, with a distinctly medicinal austerity. Then impressively dense but imploded, with great intensity of dark fruit and pepper flavors. Still a bit youthfully spiky, but very pure, juicy and long. My sample had not been racked since February of 2003 but was not especially reduced. Offers great potential.
