Encompassing 0.70 hectares of this small and precious lieu-dit, Meursault Les Rougeots features clay and limestone soils, with some of the oldest vineyards dating back to the 1940s. The winemaking process is traditional, involving extended lees contact and aging in barrels for 15-22 months. The nose shows a touch of Coche-style reduction with subtle hints of oxidation, yet it retains sufficient acidity and a fruit-forward character that carries through to the finish.

Aromas of wet stone and cold steel. Then very rich and dense in the middle palate; a step up in concentration from the foregoing wines. Chewy, tactile and very bright, with hints of ripe stone fruits in the background. Finishes with superb persistence.
