The Premier Cru Perrieres vineyard features thin, rocky soils rich in limestone, hosting 70-year-old vines. Employing traditional methods, the winemaking process includes extended lees contact and aging in barrels for 15-22 months. The 1996 vintage was outstanding, proving that these wines have the ability to evolve and age gracefully over time.

Vibrant grapefruit, lemon and mineral aromas give off a superripe whiff of dried peach. Painfully intense on the palate, with great power and thrust, not to mention structure for aging. A lightly toasty quality leads to an oaky back end. A complete wine with incredible lift. This will need at least six or seven years of bottle aging and may be in the league of the great 1990.
