Good full red. Knockout pungent nose melds strawberry, iron, dried flowers, tobacco, minerals and earth. Silky and seamless but also gripping, with a powerful spine of acidity framing and carrying the pungent strawberry, raspberry, rose petal and mineral flavors. A brilliantly focused Brunello of compelling intensity and structure. Expands impressively in the mouth and finishes with outstanding brightness and subtle length, not to mention grip of steel. Gianfranco Soldera routinely ages his Brunello riserva in barrel for 54 months, and like the best classic old-style Barolos that spent forever in wood, this has the structure to develop in bottle for at least 15 to 20 years.
